Hey guys,
My Congo puffer tank has MTS! Not tonnes, but around 10. I was wondering, I know that they are too hard to eat and can cause chipping, but if my puffer doesn't even look at them, do i need to rid my tank of them? I think they're kind of neat looking and are good at cleaning up. What do you think?

My Congo doesn't touch snails. Had a giant apple snail tankmate for a year.

I suspect that the lurkers in general are not big on eating snails. My Palembang ignores the ramhorns in its tank.

My little Congo likes to peck pond snails to death but doesn't eat them. My larger Congo pays them no attention at all.

My Congo eats the very occasional small snail but not many so I put a few adults in the tank to try and breed snails for my F8 puffer, as my small snail tank isn't heated and they have gone on a breeding go slow at the moment!! unfortunately the Congo puffer took exception to them being in his home and killed them all, although he didn't attempt to eat them. I think he just likes having his tank to himself !!! lol

so what do you guys suggest for crunchies for their teeth if they don't eat snails? I feed people shrimp too, but is that enough? I know the 'lurkers' aren't as reliant on tooth wear as other puffers...

I find like you say that lurkers teeth are not so much of an issue as predators. My lurkers feed on the usual, cockles mussel, prawn, krill etc.
