Well bought them this morning and they are currently buzzing around my tank :D Very very cute, fat and healthy looking, one got grey stress belly but it has almost gone, they are both pacing the corners a little but really hope they settle soon the cuties. Me and partner are in love and the wait has been worth it.

I am going to see how the week goes, they are currently in freshwater then will source my marine salt and refractometer/hydrometer next weekend and hope to start raising the salinity on the tank. The guy in the store mentioned to give them salt baths in a bucket each day, should I bother as the plan is to start bringing them to low brackish really very soon (like next weekend). The guide Dadof4 wrote on mixing salinity makes it clearer for me, may need little more guidance on actually doing it.

Will get some pics later when they have settled down.

Very quick preview

Congratulations Amy!! They are lovely, and personally I don't see why you'd need to do salt baths if you're planning on changing them over anyway. Were they in brackish water at the LFS? :D

Hey! No they were freshwater there and they had treated them to saltbaths. Plan to go brackish this coming week or next. :)

You probably don't need to do salt baths if they're going to be brackish anyways. Have fun with them!

Maybe it's me, but it seems odd to keep them in freshwater and give them salt baths. Why not just keep them in brackish? I can't see what benefits they would gain from salt baths. :?

I think it's so that the salinity change gets rid of external parasites. You give marine fish FW dips before adding them to the tank.

Well, I'm not 100% sure on that, but, yeah, that's what I think it is. It's the same principle as treating ich with salt.

Amy, YAY!!! You're going to be great with them.

Really nice little video Amy, and your tank looks fantastic! I'm sure your puffers are going to be very happy and I have a feeling that you're going to make an excellent puffa-momma!
