Internal Parasite Treatment

I have a dwarf puffer that I think may have parasites. He is very thin compared to my others (I have 4 total in a 30 gallon tank) in the same tank and doesn't seem to gain weight even though he is eating. I feed them live black worms and snails. My question is, what kind of medication would you recommend for treatment? Also, I have read that some of the medications can not be used in tanks with ornamental crustaceans. I do have Amano shrimp in this tank as well. Thanks for your help.

The most common medications used for treating IPs are metronidazole in combination with praziquantel, or flubendazole, or levamisole. Jungle makes two products containing metronidazole and praziquantel: Jungle Labs Parasite Clear (fizz tabs), and Jungle Labs Parasite Guard (crystals). I have used these before with ghost shrimp in the tank, and all survived. Alternatively, you can use Metro+ in combination with PraziPro. Neither of those two products are cheap, though, so if you're on a budget (aren't we all?), then try the Jungle products.
