I would think it could...I'd play it safe and trash it IMO.

I might yes, if I knew the half-life of it. The only real danger is that the medication would be less effective really. The rest of the medication is just excipients and binders. In the case of Discomed, it already comes in powdered form.

Its to treat a dwarf puffer with internal parasites. The poor male has been skinny for months now.

I had success personally using anti-parisite medicated fish food by Jungle...i'd skip the discomed.

It's actually called Anti-Parisite Medicated Fish Food for Internal Parisites...by Jungle. I found mine at my lfs.

I'd agree with the reduction in effectiveness rather than turning into anything nasty. Plus that, the fillers etc are pretty inert, so unless it got damp, nothing should really change.
Still try and get hold of the food med as well.
