Hellooo...!

Well first i like to introduce myself to this lovely forum >>> i love puffers

I got a baby 1 1/2" fahaka last week and shes been eating really well 2-3x a day
of shell on shrimp, mussles,mysis shrimp, squid and possibly crays .. has great appetite
and now comes to front of glass everytime i go watch her and she literaly begs for food each time hehe

However i notice sometimes maybe once a day she has this stringy white stuff about 1cm long
and at end of it theres brown poop ... most of times she does normal black blobs ..

Ive attached some pics, hopefully shes ok but has she got ips ??

Shes in 55g atm but will be upgrading to 150g once she gets to 6"

Ive read that usually puffers with ip have the concave belly but she has a big belly ..

Thats great to know, she looks healthy and yeah she does act and eat healthy and
doesnt appear sick .. but on occasion has the white stringy poops .. :S

She hasnt been treated before ... would it do any harm if she was to be treated
and she didnt have ips .. or should we just wait a bit and see if the white stringscome more often? Thank youuuuuu

nope it won't hurt her.

buy some Geltek Ultracure PX treat food with it, and feed her...

works wonders. Unless you're Annabelle...read up on her story 0_0 that's a success and a half if you ask me

ahh im in Uk so i cant get that here unfortunately but i got the one from Waterfall and i will be using that ....

my 55 g with the Fahaka sprung a huge leak last night and just took it apart and have the 140 here 2moro .. will baby Fahaka be ok in the plastic container(10g) overnight ...? It has heater and air stone in it ... hopefully its not too bad for her since she only just got here and had to move her about already :S

Overnight is fine, especially since she's so small. Too bad about your tank! Can you fix it?

I wish we could but it turned out it was a big break at the bottom og the glass :S surprised it didnt fall apart since the break is right across the width of tank .. so kind of lucky that way and that spotted it early

Well the plan was to get the 140 6 months down the line when fahaka got to 6inches ... we thought might as well get the 140 now since our 12 yr old 55g gave up on us ... or was it someone who accidently hit the glass 2many times when moving the rocks ... :S ....



So a 140gallon tank for a baby 1 1/2" fahaka puffer should just fit ok ...hehe .. guess that will be like a mini river for her .. she'll love it
