hi, I just got a dwarfpuffer and want to do some redecorating.
Need i worry of its poison if im cleaning the tank or if i touch him accidentally,or am i overreacting?
I want to give him some more rooms to hide in. then he has now!

No you don't have to worry. The toxin that they carry is mainly in internal organs ie: gallbladder, liver, gonads, etc. They are not toxic to the touch and carry no toxin on the skin.

No problem as long as you do not eat it.

You should be fine, don't worry! One thing I wanted to mention though is; if you're redecorating and painting the room you are best moving him out and making sure everywhere is aired very thoroughly before moving him back in as most household paint contains high levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) which can ultimately harm your fish. That's if you're painting, and if you can move the tank. Just thought the info might help!

That might be the wisest thing to do, i think, to take him out for a while.
Still deciding on what to put in exactly, got some stupid lil castles in there ,but he looks pretty comfortable roaming those ruins!
Got some big piece of driftwood left, and got loads of stones and slate in my garden, to choose from.
Gonna try to find some pics and steal some puffer tank ideas here on the site, for I have not had the time to plan the whole thing ahead, like I usually do with my tanks.!
I don't know what he'll like but I think I'll come up with a home he or she's gonna like.
He ate like crazy today .My wife threw in a snail and he immidiatly attacked it and followed it to the bottom.
Real predatory fish, liking him more everyday!

Oh, gosh, sorry, I completely misunderstood what you are decorating!
I thought you were redecorating the room in your house where his tank is located, but you obviously mean his actual tank - as in the aquascape, the decor etc.! Oh, you should be fine then, I wouldn't worry: you don't need to move him out of his home while you shift things around unless you're worried about not having enough space to work around or accidentally hurting him!

No ,I dont think my puffer wouldt like it if i paint his tank!
Rather stay with decorating his inside tank.
btw when i was redecorating the house, i'd have bigger problems ( and tanks) to worry about.

Still got no real idea as what to do ,but i'm gonna try some things today.

Well, took out a lot of plants ,put in an ornamant with the lil ruins.
Then added the new floating plants from my neighbourstank filled with snails!!!
My fish really enjoyed hunting for the snails and none of the redecorating of the tank freaked him out.
Everytime i get near the tank or open the top he checks me out time and time over.
Swims up to the front of the tank and begs.....
I'lll Post some pics of the new setting tommorrow.

Hi,
Promised some pictures of the new decoration, but could not get a good shot of the whole tank,due to reflection issues.
Got 2 fairly nice ones of the King roaming his castles!
Promise to do a whole tankshot soon.

Still eats like crazy, keeps attacking any snail i put in!
