Found these in my tank today. I can't figure out how to zoom in in the forum, but they look like it to me. Maybe snails?

So what do I do? I took out the two ghost shrimp in case they'd try to eat them. There are snails and blood worms and one fiddler crab, otherwise.

I guess just leave them. If you're really worried, you could try getting a razor blade or something and gently removing them from the glass, then keeping them in a plastic container or spare tank till they hatch.

The crab rarely comes out from inside his piece of wood. I was hoping the snails would breed- more snails for my puffer.

Just leave them they should hatch soon enough. There are probably eggs in places you can't see as well.

Really, are they snail eggs? I found something like those in my tank about 2 months ago, but nothing happened in the 2 months. I got sick of how they looked one day and scrubbed them all off....

They look a lot like snail eggs to me. I have a whole breeder tank with patches that look like that.

Snail eggs take about 7-10 days to hatch, any longer than that they are probably dead.

Yup, snail eggs. Tons of them on the glass in my snail breeding tank. Now, those are only the ones you see....

Yes, I have a snail tank with loads of those eggs in it. I also have 2 crabs in there and the crabs don't really mess with the snails too much, although if my big crab gets hungry and I don't put anything in right away, he will try to break into the snails shell. That's the thing with ramshorn snails, you just get one or two and before long you have loads of them!

So what about water changes then? Just suck out the water from the top? My tanks are due for w/cs.

I saw a "ball" of them floating around the tank, though! One of the shrimp had ahold of it, so I took both shrimp out.

In that case they probably were dislodged from a decoration..or maybe the shrimp just wanted a snack? LOL

They do sometimes come loose from whatever they've been stuck to. Most times they will fall onto something else, I believe they go ahead and hatch out anyway, I don't think it causes them any problems when they are free-floating. In fact, I think they are just about indestructible! I know when I had them in my community tank and I didn't want them there, it seemed like no matter what I did, they prevailed anyway. So don't worry too much about them. If a batch were to be destroyed, there's probably 5 more to replace that batch, that's how numerous they are. Your tank will be filled with them before long. Just make sure to keep them well fed.
