Fahaka puffer tank size

Hello all

I have my Fahaka for a year and about three months now and he has been in a 40 gallon tank. I have two filters on the tank rate for 55 gallon each and he is happy. He swims around and eats without any problems. I know he should be in a 120 gallon; and I had one set-up for him, but it crack before I could get him in. That a different story all together. I did find a 75 gallon to put him in but I don’t see any reason to go any higher. Does anyone else keep there Fahaka in a smaller tank?

Just my .02 but 40g is a ridiculously small tank for a fahaka long term. Chances are good that it has and will shorten their life span and stunt their growth.

Fahakas need at least 120g. That's absolutely awful about the big one cracking, and props to you for getting it in the first place, but, yes, you need another. IMO, you should move the fahaka to the 75g for now (if he isn't there already, wasn't sure about that from your post), while you work on getting another for his lifetime home. You've got a beautiful animal - don't let it down!
