Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hi, I'm new with puffers and got one two days ago, at the time I have him in a quarantine tank until I finish preparing his tank. The problem is that since yesterday he's just laying on the bottom of the tank and has gotten all dark and today he didn't eat anything. Is this normal or is he sick?

I'm glad you quarantined your puffer... but also any additional information regarding water quality (salinity, nitrites, ammonia, nitrates) would be very helpful in determining whether you have a problem or just a moody puffer.

It's a GSP. At the moment it's in a FW tank because that's how they had him in the LPS, as for the parameters I'll have to check them tomorrow the only one I have right now is the temperature 27º C. I've also noticed that sometimes it's on the bottom it has it's tail curled up against it's body, I read that this is some kind of camouflage but I don't remember if it was for this kind of puffer.

I accidentally left my heater unplugged after a water change and i freaked out when i saw my gsp all dark and curled up in his cave. I couldn't figure out why. Then I saw the temp... and realized what had happened. it was 27c when it's normally 30c. Once I plugged the heater back in and it began to warm up he was back to his normal self.
I think the best thing to do for him would be to get him into his destined home asap. Start getting him into brackish water as well.

What is the temp that you would recommend? Because almost everywhere it's indicated to be between 24 and 28ºC.

30C is too high for me. I keep my GSPs at 26-27 in th summer, high 25-26 in the winter.

Fisbase gives 24-28C as natural range temperatures, but I would not use the maximum of that range full time unless it is unavoidable in summer. If I were forced into that maximum, I would increase tank size and minimize other bioload to compensate for the reduced oxygen levels when it is that warm.

They can be big or small but if the GSPs don't eat it because it's too big then crunch it.

Don't feel so bad. I was totally confused at first too and this forum helped me learn very quickly about my GSP.
