What External Filter

Hello,
I'm trying to decide what external canister filter to buy for a 234 litre (approx 60 US Gal) tank that will house 2 GSPs
Is there a general rule that can be followed to determine how many times the water needs to be turned over? I've read anything between 2 and 6 times per hour.
Anyone know of any good makes?
Cheers

Why a canister? I'd go with the largest Aquaclear & then maybe back it up with a canister for more biological filtration. Remember, you'll want to move this over to SW filtration (which is live rock & a protein skimmer) eventually.

The general consensus is around 10X per hour.

Thanks for the advice.....
Why a canister? I'd go with the largest Aquaclear.....
Are those the hang on Aquaclear filters - I've don't think you can get those in the UK. I like the canisters because they can be tucked away under the aquarium (keeps the girlfriend happy) and i've used them in the past. Are the hangon filters better?
I'm hoping that once the tank is set to go full marine I'll have another use for the canister (ie another tank to use it on

) so it will not be a waste of money.
The general consensus is around 10X per hour.
My word is it really as much as that. That means a filter that can turn over 2340 litres an hour. Do they exist or do i need to get two?
Thanks again

Just like HOB filters, canisters need to be taken apart & cleaned out every 3 weeks. PITA, if you ask me...

Aquaclear is made by Hagen, a German company. I see no reason you can't get them in the UK.

Sorry I think I'm being a bit slow on the uptake (Friday evening and my brain has ceased working.
Do you mean one of these?

I'm pretty sure that's what she's referring to. I have one on my 38gal brackish tank. Works wonderfully. I've always prefered HOB for freshwater or low-end brackish tanks becasue they are easier to keep clean and maintain.
