i was in my lfs the other day and they had like 6 cylons figure 8 mixes they looked like cylons but had the distinctive figure 8 on its head. they where cool but wouldn't they have realy complex care?

Are you saying these were half Ceylon puffers and half Figure 8 puffers?

I've got 2 that everyone says are GSP's, but they have an odd look to them, making me wonder if they aren't some different strain.

Ceylon's grow pretty large (~8") compared to F8 puffers (~3") and also require greater salinity later on in their lives; I've received advice in the past myself that it is best keeping these species separate. How LFS stock/store fish should never factor in to the equation (they work on a short-term, pre-sale, save space approach).

Many Ceylons have an 8 shape on their back. Biocellatus means, "twin-spot". This refers to the 2 eyespots on their sides, near the back of the tail of a F8.
