to much filtration?

hi guys i just completed seting up my new 40gal tank with dual emporer 400 filters and the guy at my lfs said it was way to much? what do you guys think

Is there such a thing? :lol: It's reccomended that the gph turnover be at least 10x the number of gallons in your tank, and some people reccomend double that for puffers (since they're such messy eaters), so if the two filters have a turnover rate of 400 each, then you should be fine - perfect, even!

It could be too much if you have fish that like gentle current...

I've never met a puffer that liked gentle current though!

he seem to be happy i had him in a ten gan stuffed with plants and a cave but now those plantes arent so filling in my new tank :?

Of course he's a happy little puffer. :) I'm sure that the switch from 10g to 40g feels great to him.

ya color has greatly improved on him :D my ten gal in now my ghost shrimp breeder
