Just got him today... MY FIRST PUFFER!

his name is toby. i hope to have pixs up soon. he is currently in a 10 gallon tank, and hope to get him in a bigger once we get the 180 set up, we are going to try and move him in a 55 and we want to get a porcupine puffer with him, once he gets a little bigger. I put my hand in the tank to move a rock and he swam for me. i dont know if he was going to try and bite me or if he was just trying to check me out. but if you have one, can you let me know what you feed it and how i can be a better puffer mommie.

i think he is a compressed toby. he is really shy. i keep comming to the tank hoping he will be more social, but so far nothing yet. we moved his tank into the dinning room so he will get use to people comming to his tank. (at the lfs he was in the very top tank where i could barly see him and im 5'6") so he might not be use to seeing people that much. he is really cute and when all the lights were off in the house i crept to the tank ( i dont think he could see me) but he was pushing the thermometer around the tank. it was really cute.

Cute!

Just keep on the water changes until you can move him to something bigger.

Keep in mind that a 55g is way too small for a porcupine puffer. Bet they'd love that 180 though!

My boyfriend doesnt like that because he wants to make it a reef tank. when the porcupine is bigger, we are going to move her to a bigger tank when she outgrows the 55.

Be careful. The fish could stunt quickly. Move him *before* he looks too big.
