Meet Faya, my Fahaka

At first, I am from The Netherlands and my English is very bad but I want to show my Precious!

After having a brackish water tank for almost a year I decided to have a FW puffer. I felt in love with the MBU but my house is too small to have a tank that big, my search for a puffer which demands fits my housing was started.

In an add on the internet I had found a Fahaka in Belgium (I live close by the Belgium border) that needed a new home. After some info gathering on the Fahaka I decided to take the jump... The owners told me that they had the puffer for a year, their opinion about the puffer was that he was lazy and agressive (lots of biting). They said it was a nasty beast.

The Fahaka was in a bucket and she didn't look like a Fahaka. So skinny, no color and it was almost like she was dead :(
She looked like this:

After a few weeks power-feeding she was becoming more healthier and happier! She was looking more like a Fahaka! In the beginning she even didn't know what to do with snails! A puffer who doesn't eat snails :(

[welcome]

Thats an amazing job you did bringing that fahaka back to health like that, he's starting to look more and more like a fahaka... :poke: but you may want to shrink your pictures down a bit, coz they took me 1-2min to load all of them and i'm on broadband

BTW, great job setting up his new home :D

 OMG! They were starving the poor thing! :( No wonder he was biting everything and they called him a beast. I would too if I looked like I was starving! And I wouldn't call being "weak" from not feeding "lazy". :( You said they had him for a year? The poor little guy must have really suffered! :( I've had Annabelle for 7 months now and she's is bigger than he was when you picked him up!

I'm thrilled that someone with a heart got the little guy before he died. :grats: You did a wonderful job of making him healthy. He looks great! :goober: I love the way you set up the tank also. It's a beatuiful tank and one handsome puffer!
What's this little guys name? Btw: Welcome to the forum. :D

Thx All!!
And it's really not a monster, she is sow sweet for a fahaka. She can't kill a snail bigger than 0.5" and she would prefer that I break them for her. When i clean the tank she's so scared that she's hiding in her cave :)
