This was mentioned on another post. I'm not too far from Harlow and the girlfriend has agreed that I can have a tank large enough so i'm tempted. Not sure I can get a tank bought and set up in time though and he does look in a sorry state. It's prob IPs or some other issue rather than underfeeding (so more problems there).

I prefer to take my time and set things up properly so I think i'll bank the promise of a large tank and set up a fahaka tank when i have more time. It's a shame as i dread to think of where the poor creature will end up. :(

It's got such pretty markings. I wish I could help. Can you write a message or e-mail to the owner somehow? I'm not too familiar with Ebay.

Yep I posted original after spotting this on Ebay. I did contact the seller but no response, believe someone else on the orignal post said they had as well, not sure whether they got a response or not.

It is a little sad (or very sad..) He either knows exactly what he is doing and does not care, just wants the money. Or he just feels he is right and "knows" it is a F8. Either way it is false..hmmm..popping over to Ebay quickly.

Alright..would it be too harsh to report the seller? There is an option to report the item but wouldnt know if this would do more harm than good as the person bidding may be a rescuer and actually give the pet a new home. It is a shame ebay changed as you used to see the bidders names (could have contacted and forewarned). Once the item is sold i believe the winner's name comes up, may try to email once this happens to ensure they know what they are getting into.

yeah, they need to know that the fish there buying is a freshwater fish, not brackish like an F8 and that it will grow only a little bit bigger.. just 14 inches or so bigger.. lol

 WHAT!! check out his other item!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aquastart-320-Aqu ... dZViewItem

Hes keeping it in a 28L aquarium? even if it was a F8 its still not big enough, no wonder it looks ill, and he says he want to move onto marrine? im thinking hes added table salt into that tank for his so called ''figure 8''

Speaking of figure 8's...

I was at my lfs this evening to get bloodworms. Both employees were busy with other people at the time, so I decided to go look in the little tank (actually its one of those big divided tanks that's 12 or so squares with incoming water constantly to each compartment and a in spout on each row, etc.) that has the dwarf puffers where I got my newest DP yesterday. My first thought was, "Who put HIM in there?! What dummies!" There was a BIG F8- well, okay, 4 inches or so, but FAT- in with about 3 *tiny* DPs. I noticed the F8 had something in its mouth. When I got a closer look, it was the head of a DP! :o He dropped it and next thing i know, he goes and takes a huge munch out of the side of a 2nd DP! I went over to the woman working there near by and said "Sorry to interrupt, but there's a big Figure 8 eating Pea puffers..." She jumped and ran, saying "Oh no!" and quickly got a net and took the offender out and put him back where he belongs. When she came back, she said "I punched him in the nose. He jumped the divider." Whether she really did "punch" the little guy I didn't see. I figure, he probably was thinking "Wow. LIttle moving food over there. How can I get it...." and then thought he was in dining heaven. Poor little DPs! :( By the time I realized it was a DP head he had in his mouth, he spat it out and munched the 2nd one. I suppose I could've caught the F8 and bagged it myself, but I was so shocked. He was a nice looking F8, too.

That poor fahaka is probably stunted extremely badly by now if hes been living in that 20 liter all his life... extremely big waste of such a gorgeous fish and to think this guy might be going marine!!! i just hope he sets up a decent size tank this time...
