I have two of my thanks the problem with to much phosphate (PO4)
and nitrate (NO3) is on the limit of the acceptable range.
Both tanks are complete differed with plants and fiches but both a freshwater tanks.
28Gal. (120ltr.) Freshwater Tank
lot plates
15 small fishes
PO4: more than 2 (max. that i can measure
)
NO3: 30
NO2: 0.025
46Gal (200ltr.) Freshwater Tank
some plantes
to much fisches
(I dont finde someone that looking for the offspring)
PO4: more than 2 (max. that i can measure
)
NO3: 50
NO2: 0.000
If change on weekly base 30 till 40% Water and reduce the food for the fiches. If search also for other alternatives in the hope that i don“t need any chemical solutions
. If find the marine aquarium's a lot of successful storys form people that use Vodka to reduce NO3 and PO4. If also find some reports form people they used it also successful in freshwater tanks. It should be 1ml (0.04 fluid ounz ?!?) on 23Gal. (100ltr.). It should be startet with less and after two weeks a little bit more. The risk with Vodka is that with to much the bacterias can be to much that will reduce the O2 in the tank. It should be used in a time range form approx 4 weeks. In the last week it can be reduced.
Is here someone that try this also in freshwater thanks or has experience with this?
