I got a bottle of Gel Tek. Can I get some advice on how others have used this successfully. The bottle says "use ultra cure bx as the only product offered to the fish when fed. Add to the aquarium with the dropper tip on the bottle. Hold bottle 2 inches above the water surface and squeeze. Offer at least 5 drops per fish. Twice a day." Previously I thought I've read to so food in the medication then feed the fish. Is that correct? Also it say to offer two times a day. Should I go with two smaller feedings rather than feeding once a day? Any advice from people who have had success with this product would be really helpfull.
Thanks

I know the bottle says to just drip it into the water and that works fine with greedy little fish that eat anything you put in the tank, like guppies, goldfish, tetras, etc.
Puffers are hunters and a little more picky.. by the time they examine those drops of gel and decide they *might* want to try to eat one, its probably half melted away.
So most of us just goober the gel onto our puffer's regular food and dose them that way. If your puffer accepts freeze dried foods, that's easiest, soak the foods in a little bit of the gel so they soak it up, and feed it (probably a good idea to do the two times a day thing if your puffer will eat twice, mine usually will not). If your puffer won't eat freeze dried, just do your best to figure out how to get a fair amount onto their food.. I usually goober a bunch onto some shrimp, I know another member actually got a syringe and injected the geltek right into an earthworm and did it that way.
The best part about it is the fish don't object to the flavor, so as long as they'll eat the food you are offering normally, they usually don't even notice the medication.

Did you buy Ultra Cure BX, or PX? BX is for bacterial infections, not deworming. You want PX for that.
