Is it too large for 2 F8?

Hi everyone

Tomorrow I'm gonna order a new tank for my 2 F8 puffers. They have lived in a 22G tank for six months. After torturing them in such small tank  , I'm thinking to order a 53G (200L) for them to live comfortably? Is it too large for them both?

Nope. I think there is never too large. They will appreciate the extra space I am sure. :D

Sounds great! Put some BBGs in there with them, and it'll be beautiful!

Get a couple of Knight gobies too, they're a blast to watch. Mollies are great maids for algae.

Once I put some BBGs with a F8, he ate them all. In another attempt, with a different F8 I put some mollies, the puffer got so stressed with the mollies that he didn't stop to pace the glass until he jumped out the (coved) tank for his death. :(

If you are saying I will not spend money on a larger tank, then 53G (200L) will be my choice! Then I'll think in adding some tankmates.

Yeah, mollies can be real bullies.

53G will be really nice for your f8s.

I'm with yunachin: I just don't think there is such a thing as a tank that is too big, with maybe a few exceptions. If we could ask our fish how they felt about this, I bet I know what they'd say. ;)

I already order the 53G tank, probably it will be at my home next saturday. I'm so excited!!!
I think my puffers will be excited too!! I thought of getting a orange chromide or two... Black mollies aren't bullies, are they?

If it's ok, how many chromides and black mollies can I have with 2 F8 in this tank?

I wouldnt have thought so, the more space the better! The only concern id have is would they find the food in there? But i would have thought so. Worst comes to the worst you may have to hand feed or similar.

I think they will find the food, since they start to swim like crazy when they see me approching the tank holding their food! =) I tie the mussel in a thread or stick the shrimp on a bamboo skewer.

So IF I decide to add some new fish I only have BBGs as a choice, 'cause chomides are not a good option.

I have two chromides with my f8 in my 29 and they seem to be doing fine. The chromides are pretty passive and don't seem to mind the puff swimming through their area.
