Fahaka and MTS

I have a whackload of malaysian trumpet snail babies and was wondering if I could feed them to my 6" Fahaka. I know that the larger ones are probably not good because of the hard shell but the smaller ones shells crush pretty easy.

I wouldn't take the chance. If you throw a few small snails in the tank for the fahaka to eat and it don't eat all of them then they start to breed in that tank grow larger and when the fahaka eats a larger one breaks it's teeth, gets infected and dies. Hmmmmm no I wouldn't do it. :)

I got some MTS hitchers on a plant and now they bred like mad. I crushed the small ones with my fingers and fed them to my gsps and f8s. Maybe you can do that with your fahaka.

Winston has eaten trumpet snails since before I got him (its how he got his name :D). They are actually his favourite type of snails! I've had him since he was around 14cm long, and all that time he's been fine with them, never had to crush them or anything. Trumpet snails are one of the things I can always get him to eat too if he isn't eating.

Maybe just try one and see how it goes, if he hasn't eaten it after half hour or so take it out again :)
