Hello,I'm Demi and i just got a new baby lol He changes colors,going from the usual grey and white spots and stripes to blotchy grey and white,almost like camo.His "stars" also change to purple sometimes.This is my first Stars n Stripes so i was jus wondering if they all do that.He is healthy and eats well. Thanks

What size tank?

125 gal he is only about 3 1/2 in

Yes they can change colors when they are sleeping, scared or spooked in any way. It's totally normal. Any plans for a larger tank in the next year? I have a Stars and Stripes, I started him out in a 125G, he was about 4" nose to tail when I brought him home. Within a year he was 10" nose to tail. He was moved into a 156G back in October. His new tank is 24" wide. He has plenty of turning room now.

Thanks He only seems to change when he is nestled in the rocks so i guess he is snoozing I have a 300 but its not set up,maybe i should start thinking about doing so lol

I noticed your avatar demikat12 you have a few other puffers besides the stars and stripes do you?

Yes i have a few lol I almost bought a spiny boxfish today but i want to do a water change first,change filters etc

Hey demikat12 welcome to the forum. Do you have the dog face, stars and strips and porc puffer all in the 125 gl. tank?? Not to be picking on you but I would get that 300g set up ASAP, if you do.
Dog Face needs 90 gl.
Porc Puffer needs 125 gl.
Stars and Stripes needs - 165 gl.
That is the minimum for each.

No They are in two seperate tanks The dogface is the only one that is semi large right now The others are still little so i have some time yet Will start setting up soon though,gotta wait till spring so i can make room in my house for the darn thing lol
