Hi! I am not 100% sure about the type of puffer this is. I posted the pic also on a tread in the general discussion, please take a look and let me know. I was told at Wally World it is a figure eight.

Thanks!!!!!

Green spotted puffer. There's some great articles on feeding and raising a gsp. Look at my signature and click on the link.

Shoot! I hate to take them back and will see if my LFS will take them. I get attached pretty fast to fish and have 3 tanks as it is. I would keep one in a 38 but am not sure if I can meet the needs maintaining water quality. Oh well. Might get a freshwater dwarf instead! Bummer Boy, I wish you guys weren't so good at what you do!!!!!

Please do check with the LFS. Wal-Mart flushes all returns.

Only species of puffer I've ever heard of being sold at that location are GSPs.

I cannot believe they flush them!!!My only option if my lfs does not take them is to set up my 55 gallon tank in the basement. I didn't want to do that as I never use the basement and where is the enjoyment of having your fish where you can't see them?

Just set up a couch in front of the tank, and then you're good to go! Use it as a location to draw, sketch, play games, or whatever.

I actually called my LFS where I buy all my supplies and they will take them. I'll read up more and try again with dwarf freshwater puffers. Thanks and I am sad. I really like these guys!

I purchased three GSPs for my 10g a few months ago, not knowing any better, and all of them died - I had learned from the folks here what was going on with them, and I planned to take them back to the LFS, but there was an ice storm and I couldn't get out. Afterwards, I made the switch to DPs, and I love my little ones! You won't regret it. (How could you ever regret a puffer?

)
