Lost a puffer... looking to replace

So I lost one of the three stooges yesterday. He'd been acting kinda funny for about a week but his color was a bit duller than normal but still good and he was eating just fine. Then I got home the other day and he was dead.. very sad :-(. I've had the same three for about a year and a half, they live in a 55 with about a dozen BBG's and a 6-8" dragon goby and ghost shirmp (late night snacks). The other two seem kinda devastated, they ate, and watched us but didn't really swim around all that much, and this morning they hid in the plants and didn't even come up to say hi.

I'm waiting about a week or two. testing my water (supplies on order). I'm waiting to see if someone else suddenly dies or if it was just his time. I ran out of supplies a few months back and just got lazy, I've been doing the same things with the same fish in the same tank for over a year so I'm hoping it's nothing I did.

I'm looking to replace him because I don't want the bigger one to rule the smaller one. My plan is to find either a similar sized to replace the lost one and bring harmony back or get two smaller ones that can grow up together. Which would you recommend?

Probably just one, then, if that. The tank sounded a bit overstocked to me. What you've got now should be perfect.

Sorry for your loss, but the tank should be fine now. More hiding places might help.
