Well, its not strictly for me. No contractual agreement. I did supply the common & latin name. I asked for a phonecall if they have that puffer on their order list. If its not a pustulatus, then I don't need to buy it.

Its a longshot, but I am excited nevertheless!

Maybe you could give them a pic? The problem is that if you don't buy the special order "rare" puffer, it may sit there, till it dies.

I described it tonight, and will be bringing in Dr Ebert's book tomorrow as well as some info from this forum. I also explained that if they could not get a true pustulatus, then not to bother. They'll be contacting me tomorrow about it.

They have a high puffer turnover rate from what I've seen. They usually have brown puffers and fang's puffers in stock as well as F8's & GSPs. I frequent the store once or twice a week at least and I usually see all the puffers go home to informed folks. They do take time to inform the would-be owner of the special needs of the puffers.

That being said, if its a rare and special puffer, I'll most likely be buying it anyways. I just want to dispel any concerns you have for the welfare of the fish.

Let us know if your lfs gets one. May be we can order a few ourselves and have them ship. Wow! That would be find!

I have read at lest one report of imported supposedly T. pustulatus turning out to be T. lineatus.
We do not know s*** about T. pustulatus except for the pictures of sadly deceased specimen Hecter.

There is close to none info available and importers/exporters will say anything...
Id love to have a specimen, but one year ago I backed out of a deal where an African exporter claimed to be able to deliver 40-50 if wanted...
The LFS in question told me plainly dealing with these guys is risky.
You end up paying customs & fees for something else than you ordered.
I skipped out...

I have read that there is a type of "lake Fahaka" that apparently has a few read spots between it's lines....and also they supposedly look very similar as juvies...hence the confusion I suppose.
