Corals and GSP

Are there any corals that are good for a beginner and that a GSP won't eat?

I know that a lot of GSPs do graze on corals according to most of the readings I've done. It really depends on your particular GSP though. I've had luck so far with mine (1.75") with hammers, purple condy anemone, leathers, mushroom and yellow polyps. My GSP just never bothered them except for one incident where I dropped his food (shrimp) onto the hammers and he just attacked it, but the hammers didn't get much damage and had no problem surviving.

Definitely thanks for the info. I want to add some corals to Bud and Junior's tank this summer when it is finally full marine. I am getting the live rock ready right now in my 30g (my solandri is not happy with the less room for now but would rather cultivate my own live rock) I have several mushrooms in the current SW and can frag them for the new SW tank.

Cool. Good luck guys! Just make sure you try a little bit at a time. You never know if you GSP is going to polish off your expensive corals. Oh one more thing that you may try is a feather duster tubeworm. They are gorgeous, inexpensive, really easy to take care of and they retract if anything gets near them. Again, my GSP never bothered it.

I don't recommend a feather dust worm with puffers- my solandri torn mine apart. They kinda wait and grab them- tear a piece off, drop it and wait for the worm to come back out. The movement of the worm drawns the puffer's attention.

My GSPs bit everything in half, but didn't eat them. I had some hitch hiker corals on my live rock and now they are all dead after being "tasted". I think they don't like mushrooms much.

That's a smart puffer : ) Mine hasn't figured that one out yet.
