Hey guys
If I Carve rocks out of a 10ft x 4ft x 6inch sheet of Polostyrene/Styrofoam and sprayed it with Krylon Fusion Paint would this be ok in my aquarium?
I know the Krylon Fusion Paint will be safe I just wanted to know if I had to worry about Polostyrene/Styrofoam in my tank
I've seen people use Polostyrene to carve rocks and then they've painted it with concrete mix
I was thinking if I used the Polostyrene/Styrofoam to cover the back and side walls in my one day to be 1200g tank it would help keep the warmth in the tank
Thanks in advance

I can't see why you'd have a problem with the, they're known for never breaking down organically at all, so even if you "missed a spot" with the paint or an errant Mbu bite carved a chunk out, I don't suspect it would poison the water.

I'm pretty sure that the spray paint will melt the styrofoam. why not do the concrete thing?

I've emailed the Krylon Fusion Paint Makers asking if they could recommend which of their paints to use and whether it will be ok with Polostyrene, I'll let you know what they say
As for the concrete coating the guy I saw do it had to fill the tank and empty it 10 times to get the ph and water just right, he then filled it for a week to see if there were any chemicals realised into the tank and then after that emptied and refilled the tank every 2 days. I don't really fancy filling and draining a 1200g tank multiple times to be honest
Here's the vid the guy made

well...
if you paint it, every square inch, it will be sealed and not need to be leached.

I'm just thinking if I had black spray, dark grey spray and light grey spray I could do some really nice shadow effects around the rocks to make them really stick out
