I know that this is a puffer fish site, but i have a question about my goldfish in my second tank. I have a telescope eye goldfish and while i know that they have difficulites seeing compared to the average goldfish but i think his is interfering with his feedings. Then i noticed that on his one eye there is a white spot that i never noticed! Anyone have any clue what this could be? He is not acting stressed and is active as usual. I Just noticed how hard it is for him to find food...i had to get him his own pellets that float to the bottom so he eats down there and the others eat at the top so they dont compete for food. Thanks for any comments.

You could add Melafix to see if that might clear up the white spot. Be sure to do 90% weekly WC for the health of your GF.

The bug eyed goldfish often get eye problems - the tissue that causes the bulging is effectively a benign tumor. They have poor awareness of the bulge, and often hit their eyes into things, causing blindness and secondary infections to be common. Celestial eyes have it even worse, as their eyes are on top of the tumor, not centered. I agree with PP, melafix, massive water changes for now, MOST ills like this clear up on their own with clean water.
