Valentini Puffer Questions

Valentinis will still pick on crabs, shrimp, and such, right?

I don't know about the crabs, but definitely shrimp.

Mine tries to attack my crabs... and fails.
Shelby fails at it too though.

Mine is a perfect gentleman & IMO is considered totally reef safe. But... ya just never know with a puffer!

I have also had a very docile Valentini. He lived peacefully amongst coral and invertebrate.

Awesome! Maybe I will set up that 40 gallon reef after all. :)

I hate setting up tanks without puffers in them now, since they're such beautiful little fishies, but if I have a reef, I'd like to have the fancy shrimp, emerald crabs, snails, and whatnot. ^_^ I don't mind replacing snails, but I don't want to spend $20 on a shrimp and having him become puffer foodz.

Go slow on corals to make sure he won't gobble everything in sight. And remember one day he could change his mind and eat everything you have. :P

My valentini grew out of the eating crabs, shrimp faze. He still went for snails but never touched the corals.
