Better know as the Congo Puffer or Tetraodon miurus. Very beautiful puffers but lurkers that like to bury themselves. He's an info page

thanks very much pufferpunk. how do you find them? are they friendly towards you? what do you feed yours? what is their favourite food? and lastly do you have any other tips on keeping this fish happy? mine will be kept in a 4ft tank on its own with a sand substrate and high filtration with weekly 50% water changes.

a four foot tank??? he would be ecstatic... but i think thats a waste of a tank for a lurker, they spend most of there time buried and are fine in a 20 long or so.

^ thats what i was thinking, although i'm sure he / she would be happy, it would be a bit over kill giving a congo a 4ft long tank...

ok thanks for your replies. I have some slightly smaller tanks to set up when i`ve built a stand for them so at a later date, I can move the congo into one of them. So what do you reccomend for the 4fter?

I was thinking more on the lines of another puffer as I seem to have been bitten by the puffer bug.

It took me 4 years to find a red one. Finally found her on Aquabid.
