Gill Fluke Treatment for Puffers?

I need to treat my figure eight for gill flukes but I'm not really sure how to go about it. I know that a lot of medications are not suitable for scaleless fish. Has anyone tried anything with any success? Does anyone have any idea of what I need to do?

I had success. But at the price of possibly stunting my GSP.
(editted because I don't trust my own advice, lol)
but hey, I still have her, and she's doing very well. I've had Charlotte for a year and 2 months now, and she's been healthy for about 11 months.
I will say that I did use life bearer, and that it did not harm my biological filter.

Hey,
My GSP has been panting and with one gill clamped for a while. Just recently I've been giving my him a saltwater bath once a day and he loves it! His color improves instantly and doesn't appear to be stressed at all after a 1/2 hour. However, since F8's require less salt, I'd suggest you give him a slightly lower SG bath. Seems to be working for me. If he's really bad you can try Coppersafe. Good luck.

Formalin and water changes work great, not as harsh as gill fluke treatment, but I do trust Aquarium Products gill fluke treatment meds. I would start with the formalin first though. You will need to show some patience with gill flukes. They are persistant and will come back several times before you finally get them knocked out.

It took me almost a month and a half before I was sure they were gone.
Patience is *so* key.
But once you realize your puffer has been swimming around for a week with no clamped gills, wow, what a feeling. The puffer appreciates it, too, heh.
