In the Pufferpedia it says that they are Inactive during light hours. Very active hunter after dark....But both of mine are very active during day light hours, they are always swimming around and hunting snails. Does anyone else have Irrubescos? what are yours like?

Of course, you're in England. We never see irrubescos over here in the states *sigh*. I've been looking for them for years now.

I think they can be just as active during the day, though I've never kept any. Most puffers in general do the majority of their hunting at night, if they have a choice, but adapt to our human schedules very easily.

I've actually seen them here once. I really wish I got them when I had the chance :?

LOL Yeah, I saw them once too. I didn't know what they were, went home to research, went back the next day and they were gone :(

That was.. oh wow, at LEAST 10 years ago!

Mine (I think 2 must be around 5 years old, but would have to look that up to be sure) are almost only visible at feeding time as well as during dusk and dawn (to be more exact: the times when the lights turn on and out). But their tank is stuffed with plants, and I cannot exclude they are hunting for cherry shrimps or guppy youngs at other times, too, maybe they are just not doing this in he areas I can look into.

They are available quite often in Europe.

I've seen a few at my LFS recently.

They were going for 4.99. I want one so bad but don't have room for them. :(

No kidding, I have to do some tank rearranging and I'm going to have a 20L available. Irrubescos would be perfect.

Iv recently just got two Irrubesco :) They seem active in the daytime but i havent had them for long so they might change? To be fair i havent seen them much in my LFS here in England but as soon as they got them in i was like YAY :) I might put some fast moving fish in with them soon to test their temperment?
