Saddles Valentini and Prazipro and Cupramine

Greetings All- After many weeks of waiting, I picked up my new Saddle Valentini. He is in a QT with a klein butterfly. I think the butterfly has come down wiht ich ALTHOUGH the balentini has not shown any signs. I have had a butterfly die in the past during hyposalinity treatment for ich. someone suggested that the butterfly's body (especially) liver cannot handle the hyposalinity. Anyway, I was told to treat the QT with prazipro and cupramine.

My question is, can teh valentini handle this cupramine treatment? I have heard some negative effects.... OR would it be best to move the valentini to another hospital tank, only treat with prazipro? and if no spots/scratching show up in two weeks then he is safe for the display?

Thanks!

Cupramine could be alright at a low dose, but that probably wouldn't suffice for the butterfly. I'd setup a second hospital tank for him.
I'd wait like a month without any signs of ich before adding the puffer to the display tank.

thank you for your help, crazedpuffer!

would you treat the puffer's separate tank with prazipro at all or dont treat UNTIL the puffer needs it?

also if ich DOES show up, would you suggest using hyposalinity for the puffer?

Your welcome!
I wouldn't treat until I noticed signs of ich, and if it appears treat with hypo.
Prazi can be used to treat IP though, so if you think your puffer might have IP you might as well use that and nip the ich in the butt too.

as of last night, the puffer was eating well and i have no reason to believe he has ich/internal parasites.

i will monitor and soon move him to the clean separate QT tank.
