I am going to research them but I was wondering what you guy's thought about them. I am not ready to do a marine tank and was wanting a freshwater or brackish puffer. I have a 65 and I wanted to do sand and plants. What do you guy's think?

Anyone here own one?

I know that pufferpunk had one. I don't think they actually need 65 gallons. They ae not very active, more of a lurker. Although a 65 gallon would be a very nice tank for a congo. It may uproot your plants, they like to buy themselves.

So it doesn't like plants eh.

I don't know that for sure. What I'm saying is that it like's to bury itself so plants might be uprooted. You can always try a few plants and see how it goes then add more later on.

to my knowledge and experience with arrowhead which they are lurkers as well. I had problems with them uprooting my plants when they burrow themselves into the substrates. i know they didnt do it attentionally but it was a pain in the butt. You can try silk or plastic plants instead of LIVE plants.

Well if I just plant the driftwood then it won't be a problem.

Have a congo- likes sand and will bury itself all the time. Plants would take a beating in the tank, might try using containers for them or go artifical. Not very active but an interesting puffer. Mine wants to be feed in the morning- will come to the top of the tank to be fed. Otherwise he chills out uned the sand (going to build a multilevel shelves with sand for the tank- he sometimes sits on top of the one plant for a change of scenery).
