The Puffer Forum

Hey top-level PufferForum folks, on the valentini page in the PufferPedia, under the "Care" section, it says that not much is known about caring for them. Is this really true? Do any of you guys have one and can maybe get together with each other and compare notes and update this page for the rest of us? I know you all are busy, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would benefit from it and appreciate it. Thanks!

I remember there was someone on here that kept a pair... can't remember the name... but they were like the owners of the Cowfish Forum or something...

Yes, we definately need to expand on the saltwater fish section by a LOT. We need better content, more pictures and there's even some species not included that we need to get in there.

Now, trying to get people to help us find the info and pictures, not to mention the time to do it all... that's where it gets tough!

I wish there were some way I could help...I'd take photos of the one we have at work to contribute except my camera is a p.o.s. and totally sucks at closeups.

*snork* the story of my life...

I have about 6 different notebooks scattered around my house where I have pages of "to do" lists for TPF written down, and about 10 different projects started but never had time to finish... Life was so much easier when I worked a job where I sat in front of a computer all day with no supervision and they didn't care what I did online. hehe

And you quit that job?

I sure did.

I couldn't handle a "desk job", it was so incredibly boring. I actually still work for the same company, just transferred back out to the warehouse doing more physical work.

It was a good/bad decision.. I had to take a pay cut to go back to the warehouse, but I also knew they'd be phasing out that position (since it was obviously pretty un-productive). They've since changed it to a salary position, and eliminated some of the people.. and its now a job that if they eliminate it, you can NOT go back to the warehouse, so eventually those people will be out a job. And I'm sure its coming soon, so I'm glad I switched back when I did.

My body regrets it, but I'm a lot happier not sitting at a desk bored for 10 hours a night...

Well, look at it this way: other people have to pay good money to get a workout like what you probably get! Plus it makes you healthier overall.

Thanks so much for doing all the work you do for this forum - we'd all be lost without it! When you're doing online research, you find out very quickly that there is not nearly enough information available on puffers of almost any species outside of this site, which makes it so important. I wish there was some way I could contribute...I'm good with proofreading, if that would help.

Um havent been around in a while, i have some good pics of my old valentini puffer though if they could be of any use.

We only have about 4 photos for the profile, so more would certainly be welcome! Additional care info if you have it is also a good thing

I find it to be the only true reefsafe puffer there is. My fellow is a perfect gentleman & folks are always shocked to see him in my reef. He's always obese though & I'm pretty sure he eats every single pod, mysis shrimp & tiny brittle starfish that passes his nose. Doesn't touch SPS, LPS, softies, zoas, clams, shrimp, crabs or larger starfish.

I'll try to get them ready to send. Very nice puffer PF, i look forward to getting another one soon.
