Oh no, I think Puff might be turning blind!

The last couple of weeks I noticed that Puff, my GSP, has been having a hard time finding his food, and I've been having to hand feed him. I have to hold the shrimp right up to his mouth before he realizes that food is right in front of him and then he'll latch on. Well today I noticed that one of Puffs eyes is cloudy! I believe he's turning blind, or is blind. What causes cloudy eye, and does it mean he's blind? How can I help him?
Water parameters are: 0 Amm 0 Nitrate 0 NitrIte S.G = 1.014
Please help!

If it's just one eye then it's probally an injury from a rock or decor. Annabelle had 1 cloudy eye. I treated her tank with melafix and pimafix, it took about 5-6 days but the eye finally cleared.

Should I add a dose everyday, as it says on the bottle?

Yes, that's what I did. After 5 days (I think) do a 50% water change, then add carbon in your filter to get the rest of the meds out. The eye should clear up in 3-5 days. Keep us posted.

Nitrate of 0 is very rare. What test kit are you using?

Jungle nitrite and nitrate strips. I really do need to invest in the drop kind..... the color on the strips will barely show up.

the drip kit in the long term is a lot cheaper than those strips

Puff's eye is all better now! it cleared up after only 2 days of melafix! I treated him for 5 days just to make sure though and did a 50% water change today and added the carbon filter cartilage back in today. There's a new problem now though, please see my new topic!
