Hermit Crab w/ GSP-Harry

Hey guys, will Harry be safe with a Clibanarius vittatus/ common gulf of Mexico Hermit Crab? I know he might not be safe from Harry.

I did like Pufferpunk and put crab shells around Harry's tank and then put the crab in. It didn't take long for Harry to notice him and try to get in a few nips but for the most part Harry seems to be bored with him. I know Harry won't likely completely give up. I've never had a crab like this before, just my little red claw girl.

I have been searching the net like crazy and I just haven't found any good info on this crab. Only general. I haven't even found much but a mention on wetweb.

I confess he was somewhat of an impulse buy. I know, bad, bad, bad! I've been wanting to put something else with Harry and I've thought a lot about crabs but I should've asked you guys first.

He's really funny climbling all over the plants and crashing to the bottom of the tank. Sometimes I can hear his shell pecking on the glass. Harry is bored as usual. :(

Thank You Again, Beth :)

Oh come on guys, you all always have the answers to my questions. Also, is 1.016 SG ok for the crab?

I would suspect the crab will be fine anywhere from SG 1.015 up to 1.026, in my experience most hermits are more flexible in SG than you'd think.

I have had a hermit crab with a GSP/fugu puffer before (I switch him between the 2 tanks a few times) viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14447&p=148289&hil ... it#p148289
For some strange reason, my puffers had always left him alone. The hermit was there for a few months and eventually died after he refused to eat for about 2 weeks. I have never seen my puffers bothering him. His long tentacles were always intact. I guess it really depends on your puffer's personality but you gotta expect the worse to happen around these cute little things who have the natural instinct of murderers.

Now I have an anemone crab with the GSP. They've been together about 2 months now and the GSP has never bothered him as far as I know. He even went through a molt. So far so good.
