http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/24 ... JorAaep/g_) My dad thinks its crazy to keep one gsp in a 34 Gallon with maybe one tank mate or 2, I also like this
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... 9&keepsr=0 50 gallon tank..maybe 2 gsp (small ones) and some sort of clown are blenny. I really love these guys. I can come here when ever I need help with them. Do you guys know anyway to convince my dad into geting him into do a tank like that and how they need a lot of gallons? My dad doesn't believe me. and one more thing well two..What is the smallest about of gallons a GSP can be in by it self..Im guessing 30? and does anyone know any good and cheap tanks?
Thanks a lot -Brandon

A 29 is about the smallest commercial tank you can keep a single GSP in - I have seen 28 bows now and again you MIGHT be able to get away with, but once you have gravel and decor in there, either is going to be more like 25 gallons, so it's TIGHT once they get bigger. Fortunately, 29s are a very common "kit" tank size, and appear on craigslist used all the time for CHEAP.

Just got my upgrade, finally. The two big GSPs are going into a 72 bow, the F8's and tiny GSP are moving from their 29 to the GPS' old 45, and the 29 will probably be a sump on the 72, and may hold the tiny, evil GSP(Tucker) if we still have him when he's too big to live with the F8's anymore.

I really like the new red sea max, pretty expensive though. You could get two in there

Another thing you could do is go to your nearest Petco (please forgive me for saying that) and look at their glass aquarium packages. Most of the time they have real slick deals if you go to the stores. Some of the out-of-the-way, mom and pop LFS's also can have some killer deals on larger glass tanks. I bought a 75 gallon with canister filter, gravel, heater, lights and stand for $450 right after Thanksgiving.

I would not recommend a 29 gallon tank for a GSP simply because its actually a 25 gallon tank, just named "29" to tell it apart from the standard 25 for some stupid reason.
Its not really big enough for a GSP.
Tell your dad the ones in the stores are just babies.. they get pretty dang big!

You shouldn't really keep F8s in the same tank as a GSP, they need very different salinities, especially as they get older.
