Here's the new setup for the tank. Pretty much the same as the old setup, but with sand this time, rather than gravel.
I went with a "commercial grade" sand that's intended for concrete. It's got uniform grain sizes and didn't have any dust!

Looks good. :D Have you decided what kind of puffers you want?

GSPs or F8s, depending on what we find and how they look when we find them.

What size is that?
Looks good :) I'd go for F8s

It's a 55g.

I couldn't find anything tall that would work as tank decor.

Sweet. I like the rock and actually have a couple pieces of it in my Fahaka tank along with some Pagoda stone. You could get some really long fake plants to spread out like a jungle over the rocks or even large Amazon swords of you are wanting real plants.

Unfortunately, that's a single-bulb NO fixture on top of the tank. Given the depth of the tank, I'd want T5s or CFs for plants.

The existing plants in the tank started out as silk plants from Hobby Lobby and a brick of Sculpey. :) Chop off the big long part of the "stem". Push into Sculpey base. Remove plant and bake base. Attach plant via silicone.

Good idea on the swords... maybe I can find some silk plants that look like them.

After the water gets some nutrients, you can get those bulbs from your LFS and grow some lillies...

Say what??

I once grew aponogetrons from bulbs, but not in brackish. But lilies? In 1.004+??? I have no clue what you're referring to...?
