Our water is pretty much liquid rock. The tank has calcified deposits on the glass. I'm trying to get rid of them, and I've about had it. Scraping with a hard plastic paint remover is not working. Vinegar on a sponge only helps on the thinnest areas.

The calcified areas are currently above the water line, since the remaining inhabitants of the 55g are in a 10g QT.

Suggestions, anyone?

Take a few layers of newspaper & soak it in straight vinegar & lay it across the glass overnight. A lot of the deposits will be dissolved & the rest should easily scrape off with a razor blade.
