Hey. I know you shouldn't do this to you puffer but I was curious and wanted to see what He/She would look like puffed up. My puffer is very healthy now even after I did this to him/her. Enjoy.

your gonna catch a lot from people on here for that.
I have only seen one of my puffers puffed and that was one of my baby saps. I didn't know they could get that big when they were that small.

Looks like your puffer isn't the "Mutha Faka". Sadly, I'm sure many ppl probably force their puffer to puff up. I don't call this entertainment nor do I enjoy you causing your puffer to puff up. Get some sence eigo!

Okay... I don't agree with this any more than other people. This is a defense reaction and it should not be something that is provoked.
You really should avoid causing your fish stress like that; It's been done, you've seen it, now please don't do it again.
and flash.dan; you really need to chill. As much as it is a bad idea to make a puffer 'puff', it's not worthy of comments such as 'you make me sick' or 'I hope someone gets curious of you you look in a wheelchair'. It's not like Eigo intended to cause his fish harm. he was curious and now he has been educated. So, please, just relax and stop making the rest of us look like crazies.
I mean, I work with puffers every single day; Carinotetraodon Travancoricus (my little guys/girls), as well as Tetraodon Biocellatus and Tetraodon Nigroviridis at my job. It's not extremely uncommon to see those guys puff at each other, the customers or even when they're getting fed. It's not a good idea to scare them enough as to puff up; but nor is it something that would usually cause the fish long term harm (please note the word 'usually', sometimes it can cause internal harm!). It's not worth the risk to force them to do it, chances are, they will eventually do it on their own anyway.
Moreover, scaring your puffer in such a fashion will make it difficult to train. Many of the larger species are easily as smart as a cat, and will learn that you're the mean one that keeps scaring it. This can result in them hiding from you most of the time, or even lead to them attacking your hand and arm if they are feeling threatened enough.

Yo bro are you serious. how can you even say that to someone. You must have alot of problems. to wish that upon someone. What if I am in a wheel chair. how will that make you feel. you need to chill out and think before you say something. And yes it was for a educational purpose. Do you know how hard it is to find a picture of a fahaka puffer puffed up. I have been searching the internet for 3 years now for a picture and probably came across one. Now I have a bunch and I will post them up everywhere so if anyone wants to see a picture of a fahaka puffer puffed up they can just look at mine instead of doing it to theirs.

I know for a fact that my puffer isnt scared of me. everytime i walk into the room he tries to swim towards me. Even if I put my face right up to the glass he tries to get really close to me. I can tell he loves me very much. Even after I puffed him up.

Personally, I don't agree with your methods but I also agree that some of the comments are a bit beyond what should be in a "friendly" forum. I wish you wouldn't post up those pics because it will just encourage more folks to do this to their puffer. I am locking this thread.
