I was just watching my abei *polly Jr.*swimming around. Usually he's very active infront of the tank when i come close. All the sudden he layed on the bottom of the tank and closed his eyes 3 times like he wants to fall asleep then back on his feet start swimming again like nothing happened. I never seen that before. Have anyone experience this? What kind of sign is this? There's no notcible signs of sickness.

my mbu does that sometimes, the first time i saw him laying down with his eyes closed swaying in the current i thought he was dead, but a tap on the glass got him up and swimming, just freaked me out the first time

Puffers are definately the most interesting fish ever. Is there any other fish that can come close?

They do close their eyes sometimes but have no eyelids.

actually i love my fire eel and blue acaras but the mbus really are special. I think my fav two fish i own are my 2 babys and my super fusion red arrow

My fahaka closed his eyes once when I turned the tank light on. Was really weird!!
Puffers are definitely a fish with personality!!

Funny to hear blue acaras mentioned... two paired off at the store where I work, and have about 200 babies. We cleared the other fish from the tank(they weren't eating the babies, because mom and dad were beating the stuffing out of them). They're doing great, all the babies seem to eat Hikari First Bites quite well, they're about 5 days old now as best I can figure.

Triggers come pretty close to puffers but aren't quite there.

Mine have never closed their eyes. It's so wierd!
