So my other GSP just suddenly got sick, he is currently in a 90 gallon
1 1.50 inch gsp
2 .5 inch bumblee gobbies

salnity 1.009
0 amonia
10 nitrates
0 nitrites about

no changes in the last week except for adding 2 bumblee gobbies and some ghost shrimp


puffer is floating around and crashing into things besides that he is sitting in the bottom and doing nothing

he was perfectly healthy yesterday so i have no idea what happen

he sits at the bottom of the tank with his head down and his tail up.

Have you added any medication or any other stuff to the water? When did you do your last water change, and what did you add to the water then?

he is dead now....

A few things to possibly help the BBG's and any future fish. Be sure your tank is cycled. Your tanks are fairly new. Make sure no household chemicals are getting into the tank. Hands are free of soap or any residue before inside tank maintenance. QT all new livestock before adding to your main tank. You had stated the gsp's were not healthy looking when you bought them in another post. Buy from another source.

Yeah buddy don't give up on puffers just yet. I've had a similar experience to you and it's not easy to go through, because it doesn't take but a minute to get attached to the little creatures and it really hurts when you lose one. But somewhere out there is a puffer who needs you, so try not to be too discouraged.

Orange saddle puffer is difficult for even expert puffer keepers to keep alive. They require cooler temps = chiller. They will also kill a GSP.

Really? I didn't know. The LFS near me has one. They've had him since I first visited .. 2 months ago and he isn't kept anywhere special I must say! Very neat lil bugger. Shy as all hell eh! This ones very timid I find but then again we don't know what goes on @ night.

2 months is a drop in the bucket for a puffer's longevity into their teens. Most don't make it past 4 months, in the incorrect conditions.
