Hi I was just wondering if anyone had any trouble with GSPs not liking the light? My two hide alot when my over head light is on. It is has twin 36" 55 watt light bulbs in it and they were about 100 dollars for the two. I dont want to not use them it looks so good with the lights on. Will my puffers get used to this light or will it continue bothering them. I was thinking of fogging out some plexy glass with the sand blaster and putting it there to dull the light? any help would be greatly appreciated

Once they become comfortable with the light they will come out. I have had two people in the last few days tell me the same thing. You could try turning the lights on for a few hours and increasing it each day to help them relax. :D

i only have 2 15w lights in my tank and my puffers are out and swimming all the time. Altho its not enough light for my liking so its likely i will up the wattage.
I would carry on with your normal routine of when you turn the lights on and off each day and your puffers will get used to it.

Sounds like you have VERY high lighting going on, perhaps not using one of the two 55 watt tubes would make them feel less exposed.

My GSP became alot more active/WhiteBellyed after i dropped the amount light in the tank, i now have one 35watt tube that is on for only 5 hours during the day, at night i have blue moon light LED's so i can see his movements :-)
