Hello, I am new to this forum. I have 2 GSP's and one F8. I want to know if an umbrella fern will survive in brackish conditions?

No, it is not an aquatic plant at all, regardless of the water conditions. It is a terrestrial woodland Selaginella.

Well sonuvagun. I had plants I SWORE were aquatic on that list.
Huh, thats a lesson for you. Just because everyone sells it, doesn't mean its aquatic.

Hey, I use Swamp Crinum as a veggie filter, but the foiage is emerse. Spathiphyllum makes a great nitrate-eater, if the plant is emerse and only the roots in water. The larger Aubias do much better for me in a river tank than they do submerse.

A relative has some of those ferns growing above/side of his pond. There growing on lava rock and or old wood and the roots flow into the water. As long a you dont submerse the plant it should be fine, but I would not try it for brackish/marine water tanks.

It's been in for 2 weeks, it still seems healthy. Personally, I think it will do well.

One of the more hazardous pastimes in tank-keeping is making premature projections on short-term observations. That applies equally to fish, plants, inverts, and even upkeep techniques.

Post back after six months and a year and let us know how it is doing.

I never said that it will last, I'm just letting you know how it's doing so far.

Rapael, I'm not going to debate you on this, time will tell. But you did say that "Personally, I think it will do well." To me that is a projection of the future, about which we do disagree.
