is that even possible?

I read that pufferpunk has a fahaka in a community tank.

I'm hoping mine will remain 'docile' . 'It's' currently residing with a sepae tetra and a pair of flying foxes. They all get along and there is not chasing/ niping etc.
except sometimes, my sepae will nip and try and steal food from teh fahaka. Can you believe that? LOL. I would like to add a school of neon tetras or dwarf rainbow fish once i move them into the 125.

So, i guess my question/hope is that if i continue to feed my fahaka non fishy food. (snails/earthworms) She will get used to the taste of dirt and reject 'fishy' foods?- like her tankmates?

My fahaka chomped a piece of tail from my flying foxes when i first put them in, but it has been clear sailing since then. 1 month and counting atleast.

anyone else have docile fahakas?

Either they are killers or they aren't. I do not believe they can be "tamed". My fahaka has killed/maimed/eaten many tankmates. I have no idea why he lets these guys live.

some puffers will be fine with one species of fish and absolutly hate others. i hate a mbu years ago who was adorable. but and catfish / plecos = food!

if your putting mroe fish in try fast fast fish exos etc.. serpaes are great fast + pretty!

don't really like 'experimenting' with fish...

kind of like putting you in a cage with a wild lion, just because there is already someone in there who only got bitten once in the beginning, but lived to tell the tale..... just because it would look better with two people and a lion in the cage!

If the fish in there are ok, then cool, but don't risk anymore..

either split the tank and set up a nice freshwater community, and a separate fahaka tank or leave as is.

love it split the tank food on display for the fahaka will drive it mental... at least it wont get bored with the decor with all the food to watch

im not too disturbed about the experimenting with the fish part, i just wonder why people are so obsessed with having other fish in a tank that already has a beautiful fahaka puffer in it, if you like community tanks then don't buy aggressive fish

Yup. No matter how long they are together, don't forget that puffers are temperamental and will snap suddenly out of the blue and eat their roommates. I wouldn't put anything I wasn't prepared to lose in with a T. lineatus.
