hey guys, do u notice if your puffers go to the bathroom everyday?

Used too.

I really don't pay attention. The other fish they are housed with usually eat it (nasty but true) so even if they do go everyday...someone is recycling it.

I noticed my puffers poop very little. I might see one go poop once or twice a week. That is not to say they don't poop daily but from the looks of the tank they don't poop a lot like guppies do. None of the fish I keep now poop as much as a guppy. My puffers seem to poop less then my FW fish.

The past 3 days Shelby has gone daily. Normally I don't notice though.

I have white Australian sand as a substrate, so I can see their poop. My puffers are not even an inch, but I can almost swear that they poop twice their weight . They go a lot. They only get fed once a day, six times a week.

I have a battery powered water vacuum, so I usually take take it out if I can see them because against the white sand, it really stands out.

No.. its kinda hard for him to get out of the tank and use it.

Yeah, I have white sand too so the poop does stand out. Sushi likes to poo under the rocks which makes my life cleaning up easier. When he has nori (seaweed) though, it's green and fluffy and it kinda floats away more than solid poop. Blinky does the same thing, mostly pooping under a rock. They do go daily.

I have never seen Hootey poop.

i see my puffers poop all the time. Its definately everyday!

I wonder if diet has something to do with a puffers bathroom behavior.

I feed my puffs 6 days out of 7 and only feed until they get a small rounded belly (i never over feed unless its by accident). But I def see them poop every day. Altho i couldnt be sure its the same puff all the time as i currently cant really tell them apart

My smallest GSP, Tucker, sometimes can't get the poo to fall off his butt, which he counters by puffing about half then letting it out suddenly. This usually knocks the poo off.
