Nature VS. Nurture

So,

this concept has been debated and studied in human behaviour (dogs etc) and I thought perhaps it's also applicable to puffers ? (particularly the fahaka.)

Considering the wide range behaviour displayed by individual puffers, I figure this concept of Nature vs Nurture would be a good issue to discuss (if you guys haven't already)

Mine shares his tank with a Sepae tetra and 2 Flying foxes. He's been fin nipped and had food stolen from him by tetra (the sepea has even shown some 'territorial aggresion' lol ) , and only once has he ever nipped his tank mates(this was the first time i introduced the flying foxes, i think my fahaka thought it was food, he has not done anything since).

I credit the vendor, which I'm sure never fed it live feeders/goldfish.

Any thoughts on this?

Are fahakas simply like some of the more agresesive dogs like dobermans/shepperds, etc. If socialized correctly, they can be made a community fish?

p.s. my fahaka is only 2.5 inches though :)

your fahaka is only a wee baby, i'm 99% sure that in time he will eat everything in his path, but there's always exceptions to the rule, one of my fahakas is 2 inches and it attacks anything in sight and doesn't quit till all of it is in it's belly, obviously not one of those exceptions to the rule, my other fahaka tolerates tank mates for a while, then one by one they get eaten
