Oh dear i think i need 2 new puffers!

So I just got a new tank a 135, unfortunatly im on a second floor apartment so i really dont feel good about setting it up just yet. I am gonna try and get downstairs when our lease is up... which is in jan. But I cant really bank on that, anyways i am getting a 24 aquapod and i was reading the pufferpedia and the valentini said that its min size was 25, would this work? Also i have currently a tank that its dimentions are, 48" wide by 13" deep and 26" tall... which is like 65 gallons? I would like to put a puffer that is larger than a valentini. Most of all a porcupine, i know it needs larger than a 65 gallon tank, but could it survive 1-2 years in there, i have the larger tank, just because of worries of oh I dont know... collapsing i dont want to set it up right now!

Burrfish grow smaller than a porc, so that might be a better idea for the 65g for now & then upgrade it to a larger tank when you get downstairs. I suggest treating a burr for IPs though after getting it settled in.
Valentini will be ok in the nano.

So you would not suggest getting it at all until I upgrade? How good with all types of corals are the burrfish?

Mine didn't bother zoas. leathers or shrooms.

Well i have some sps shrooms and softies, should i stay away from the burrfish then? would a valentini be better for me then?

On the Valentini - the Aquapod will be fine but may nip at corals...mine have in the past - not to say for sure - there is never a guaraentee...
As far as the Burrfish vs. Porcupine, IMO, the Porcupine would be fine in a 65G for a year and maybe more - of course depends on the starting size - they are slow growers so really not a big concern there.
However on the burrfish, regardless of what several LFS may say and even online sites, these guys are not the easiest puffers to take care of - matter of fact, they can be quite difficult and are prone to fungal diseases.
I don't really know your experience - you may have quite a bit and be just fine with either - although on the side of caution - try to get a 2"-3" Porcupine and keep in the 65G if you really want to get a puffer now...
