my first south american puffer grew to about 4" and lived with me for three years. i feed him everything from freezed dried to live. he eat very well until one day i fed him a snail that i believe he not digest and thats what him look very sick. mind you i would feed him snails for his teeth and never had this problem. well i care for him so much i took him to 2 different fish stores and basically they were unable to help him. so i was wondering if this happens often or what. he was a great puffer, he is the reason i am still into them;)

I've actually heard of this happening on a few occasions (or, at least, we speculated that it was a snail shell problem). I think it's just one of those things that happens, kind of like someone choking on a bit of food or something. Not too much you can really do about it, as they need crunchy foods to keep their teeth trimmed, especially SAPs.
