I have been reading through other posts hoping i didn't have to post my own, but none-the-less with no luck I must. If you can help it would be very appreciated.

I have resently purchased 2 spotted puffers, they were very doom-and-gloom when i got them (meaning they were of a darker color) they have brightened up signifigantly in my tank, now very cheery and yellow. My problem is one of my puffers has blotch that crawls up his side and over his spots, this blotch is whiteish and breaks up the color on the side of his back. I think i didn't notice it when i got them because of how poorly they were doing at the pet shop but i could be wrong. I have watched it for the last few days and nothing has changed signifigantly with it. Is this something I should worry about?

My tank is 2 weeks shy of being cycled for 50 days and I got the puffers 4 days ago. The tank was cycled with rosy minos (In which I inevetable fed to my pirahna)

My nirite is a little above 0 barly and I have been changing the water everyday up until yesturday (change all my tanks on mondays) They both see ok and eatting like pigs (i have been careful not to over feed)

If anyone can help I'll test my tank again and post the info. And they are in brackish water.

Posting all water parameters will help (including SG). Can you post a pic of the "blotch"? Is the blotch moving?

No the blotch isn't moving It seems to just be messing with the pigment on the back of him. And I'll post the water parameters when i can get home to test them. My salinity is at about 1.000

That's still FW then, not enough salt to make BW. You just have a blotchy puffer w/o perfect spots. An origional!

How high is normally recommended?

One of my F8s developed pigment lose after I trimmed his teeth. It was my fingerprint. I forgot to wear gloves when I trimmed his teeth and apparently contact with my skin caused him some irritation

Now that you say that i think back to the pet store I got them from and girl who got them out for me...even though i asked her to use a cup to take them out of the water with and not a net she was very much a beginner at catching any sort of fish. She might have touched him....I was just hoping it was nothing life threatening but I'll keep an eye on it anyway.

P.S. the girl who caught my puffers for me was helpping another couster (who was no where by when i talked to her) by catching a pleco I told her it would be eaiser to use her hands to catch him and she about killed me.....she was not open to much to the idea I guess.
