Hello
First off let me say this site is wonderfull and I have been doing a lot of reading.
I have been keeping marine fish for about 2 years, about 3 months ago I cme acrosse a sharpnose puffer and full in love.
This poor guy was sucked into a powerhead, after doing some reading here I found out this isn't so uncommon.

I just purchased my 2nd Shaprnose puffer (Yes I have put sponges over all intakes on the tank), He is about 3 inches long and is in a 55 gallon with a false clown and a 3 stripe damsel, this is a FOLR tank with no clean up crew

My questions are.

(1) I have a Red Sea Prism Skimmer on the tank, it really doesn't work that well any suggestion on how to tune it?

(2) I am going to do a weekly water change of 10 gallons, Does this sound reasonable?

(3) Currently I just drop in a piece of food, such as a full shrimp and pull it out later in the day, is there a better method.
Right now I feed shrimp and muscles, I will be getting some krill next week and I am going to start a MST snail tank.
Also how often , how much should I feed? Everything I have read says they will eat as much as you give them, but at this point he is just picking though out they dat.

Thanks
ANdrew

1) Get a better skmimmer like a Backpac, Prisms are junk.
2) 10g WC is fine but you still need to test the parametes weekly, to be sure.
3) Try hanging the shrimp on a clip so you can remove easily. I wouldn't leave it in there more than an hour.
4) MTS are bad for your puffer's teeth & can break them with their hard shells. Check the feeding article in our Library.
